Emergency First Aid at Work

Emergency First Aid at Work is a one-day course for people who may be required to administer emergency first aid at work. For outdoor workers or those going to remote locations this can also be upgraded to Forestry +F and/or Catastrophic Bleed with a supplementary session completed in the same day.
This course aims to improve the confidence of the person carrying out first aid in the workplace setting. The course is practical and interactive, with no written assessment. By the end of the course, delegates will have an understanding of:
· The responsibilities and role of the emergency first aider including safe scene surveys, PPE and passing to emergency services,
· How to manage a cardiac emergency,
· How to treat minor injuries,
· How to treat a casualty who is responsive and unresponsive, and
· How to provide first aid for choking incidents and seizures.
Upon successful completion of the course, delegates will be provided with an FAA SCQF Level 6 Scotland Award certificate.
The table below summarises the content between the 1-day and 3-day courses. The level of training you require and number of first-aiders will be determined by your first aid needs assessment.
